Nicky Zimmermann took us on a journey to a dreamlike utopia for Spring ’23—inspired by Wonderland City, an amusement park (open from 1906 to 1911) on the coast of Sydney that housed a rollercoaster of unreal proportions. Hence the spirit of unbridled escapism seen in sunset-inspired gradients and shell embellishments, trailing ruffles cut to resemble seaweed, and light-as-air fabrics fit for sultry weather. Coupled with Edwardian-inspired silhouettes that nod to the amusement park’s era, it’s a heavenly marriage of old and new—rendered with the fresh romance of the fairytale-like park.
