Dušan Paunovic built on his trademark brand of androgynous seduction with roomy jackets and loose-fitting shorts rendered in refined shades of powder pink, tobacco and nude in simple, classic designs. “It’s not easy being a minimalist,” says Dušan, the designer of the Milan-based collection.The Serbian designer got his start working for his countryman Zoran, a designer’s designer who’s never wavered from his own brand of spare minimalism. Like Zoran, Paunovic put his emphasis on fine fabrics with an obsessive attention to fabric and to fit.

Wool and cashmere pants in charcoal

Dusan works a fine herringbone-weave wool and cashmere into a clean, wide-leg trouser — tailored through the waist, then falling straight to the ankle with real drape. The cashmere softens the wool's hand, so the fabric moves rather than holds a stiff line. Charcoal is the more versatile of the two washes, easy to dress up or down.
