Summer pares the trouser back to its lightest weights. The rail runs from fluid wide-leg silhouettes and tie-up maxi pants to cotton-blend terry styles cut for the beach, washed-cotton workwear, and crisp silk and satin trousers for the evening. Fabrics read for the season — lightweight linen, cotton muslin and poplin, crepe de chine, printed silk — in a palette of sand, ivory and powder through to caramel, thyme and limestone, with a few tailored wool pieces holding the smarter end. Designers on the rail this season include Victoria Beckham, Zimmermann, Nili Lotan, Thom Browne, The Andamane, Suzie Kondi, Stephan Janson and Dusan.
